Lecumberri, was the most fearful prison in Mexico. Founded by Profirio Díaz in a land that had been owned by the Lecumberri family, the prison was about to definitely close when this film was produced in 1976. Lecumberri delves into the social contrasts, the corruption and the idiosyncrasy of Mexico as contained within the walls of this so called Palacio Negro.
